Product Description
Eliza Blake, host of the top-rated KEY News morning show, has witnessed tragedy and danger in her career. But nothing the accomplished professional has experienced has prepared her for when her seven-year-old daughter, Janie, is snatched from summer camp. The country's viewers are glued to their television sets, anxiously awaiting the news that their favorite morning-television personality's little girl has been found. With each passing day, the FBI and local authorities track down every lead: A profile of the kidnapper's most likely characteristics is developed, every fan letter written to Eliza over the last six months is scrutinized, every sex offender registered within a fifty-mile radius is interviewed, and psychics from around the country appear on Eliza's doorstep offering their help. But Eliza isn't going to sit around and wait for answers. She and the rest of the Sunrise Suspense Society—brilliant producer Annabelle Murphy, cameraman extraordinaire B.J. D'Elia, and psychiatrist Dr. Margo Gonzalez—will band together to outwit a cunning criminal whose shocking motives threaten to snuff out a terrified little girl's life.

Good Read November 26, 2008 J. Schreiber I just started reading this book and cannot put it down. So far it's really, really good. Mary Jane Clark has not put out a bad book yet. Will ammend my review as soon as it's done.

This book is a suspense revolving around Eliza Blake, a popular television host, and the abduction of her seven-year-old daughter Janie. This is a fear that lives in the heart of any parent, and the desperation that sets in is revealed as perceived by the many characters involved in the story. Since Eliza lives in the spotlight, many well meaning people try to help, and play a part in the rescue of her daughter and nanny, but end up interfering in the end. I always appreciate a good suspenseful read, but this didn't feel like anything new, or even any type of new spin to it. I have read similar story scenarios, and they had a better caliber of writing. The book layout was also a distraction due to the chapter length, and I noticed it a lot because I was constantly having go back to refresh my memory on some of the characters. There were almost too many of them to keep track of. All of these issues contributed to the fact that the story as a whole does not draw the reader in enough to become invested in the outcome.

It Only Takes A Moment is a suspenseful, fast paced read. New York City news anchor Eliza Black's seven year old daughter Janie and her Hispanic housekeeper have been kidnapped. Eliza is frantically trying to remain calm while trying to find a reason for such cruelty. She has friends in important places that when they band together, call themselves the Sunrise Suspense Society and they begin to match the pieces of the puzzle in lieu of the puzzled police department. This is a intriguing read as you become enraptured with the storyline and try to solve the mystery yourself. Due to the large font size and the short chapters, it's a really quick read. Reminiscent of James Patterson's woman's club.
I LOVED this book!!! October 20, 2008 S. Shrader (Frederick, MD USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This new novel by Mary Jane Clark is wonderfully captivating. I read the book in two sittings while camping - I just couldn't bring myself to put it down. You feel yourself getting into the nanny's and little girl's characters and their anguish, always waiting to see what happens next. It is fast paced and hectic (exaggerated by the fact that the chapters are very short). You also get a feel for the absolute desperation of the mother who is frantic to get her kidnapped child back home safely. If you love a good mystery/suspense read, this is the book for you!
Good Read October 16, 2008 D. Leschke (Tulsa, OK) An interesting and thrilling read. Great story about kidnapping that doesn't allow you to put down the book once you begin to read.
