Product Description
Artemis's mother has contracted a deadly disease--and the only cure lies in the brain fluid of African lemurs. 5 out of 5 stars Smart and fun young adult science fiction!   October 15, 2008
Jessica Teel (Homer, Alaska)
Enn Reitel's English accent and deep, commanding voice fit perfectly a young adult novel that blends science fiction with magic. Author Colfer is just as comfortable writing about body scans, bond like gadgets and artificial limbs as he is describing elves, giving Artemis Fowl a unique feel that is both modern and timeless. An ample prologue will help new readers catch up on unfamiliar territory covered in previous books. Artemis Fowl went missing for three years and now back home, and age 14, he lives with special and magical powers. Artemis Fowl must race against time to save his mother whose organs are failing from a mysterious disease, and face off with a cunning enemy - himself. Time travel will spin children's brains and makes for an intelligent vehicle filled with plot twists and surprises. Fans of children's science fiction will be intrigued by the modern day mysticism of Artemis Fowl.

4 out of 5 stars Not the best, but pretty good   October 14, 2008
C. Smith (Metairie, LA USA)
Another enjoyable Artemis Fowl adventure. I did think this one started a little slow, though. And what happened to Minerva? Not even a mention? Come on!

5 out of 5 stars This is my favorite of the series   October 5, 2008
T. Freeman (Akron, OH)
I've read that male writers tend to be more plot based and female writers more character based. Every time I read a book I've been noticing that this statement is true. Women writers portray more emotion in their characters and this is what makes them so interesting. Most of the Artemis Fowl books are plot based and this one is too, but there are more glimpses of internal conflict from Artemis in this book than the others. He realizes things about himself which he doesn't particularly like and this is exactly the kind of character writing I enjoy.

4 out of 5 stars Good   October 2, 2008
Sue (Bahamas)
My son, an avid reader, is 17. He was still eager to read the next Artemis Fowl book and did so as soon as it arrived. He was not disappointed. An advanced student in a private school studying Latin and Greek, the book was good enough to satisfy him.

5 out of 5 stars Artemis Fowl - The Time Paradox   October 1, 2008

I bought this book for my 10 yr old son. It is part of the Artemis Fowl series. He finished this long book in 3 days! He coulnd't put it down! He tells me it is one of the best in the series.
