1 out of 5 stars Be careful when you order.   September 25, 2008
Cathy J. Carlberg
Be careful when you place this order. Amazon and Target are now "partners" and when I ordered this product, the order apparently goes straight to the Target website for processing. Not only do you NOT get the free shipping as indicated by Amazon, you get billed for taxes. The order is prcessed and the money is taken way before you are aware of this, therefore too much time has elapsed to cancel the order. So, even tho the item is okay, don't get it from Target/Amazon.com Purchase it from a different Amazon vendor. Another added frustration it that the purchase order isn't even available on your Amazon account.

4 out of 5 stars Not Quite Freestanding   September 23, 2008
Art Herrera (San Antonio, TX)
I received the order promptly as promised from Amazon. Assembly was quick and connects with four loosely fitting pieces plus the four twisting arm hangers. The stand leans due to construction of the frame pieces. However, I did not bolt to the wall, instead I wedged a small piece of rebar under the frontend of the base to keep the stand firmly against the wall. That way when ever I remove either bike the stand remains against the wall. It appears to do the job. Also, I wrapped the plastic arm hangers with pipe foam tubing so that the (brake and gear)cables running under the bike frame would not get smashed with the weight of the bike. Good deal for the price.

4 out of 5 stars Four Stars on the Basis of Price   September 10, 2008
suits_me (Philadelphia - miss Boston's Jordan Hall)
It is called "Gravity" not only because it leans against the wall or because the bikes hang freely, but because all of its pieces just slide into one another. There are no screws holding the different sections making up the column together, nor for the "arms" which suspend the bikes. If your floor is not true then you realize the column will go up the wall crooked to one side or not be flush against the wall. Even on a relatively true floor the topmost segment of the column leans out forward from the wall leaving a good three inch gap between column and wall at the very top in my situation. The one, supplied screw for the wall is to address this and also to make sure the column can't be tipped over, but you should know there will be a goodly amount of force on that screw by the uppermost bike's weighing the top segment out from the wall as described. Nevertheless, the rack's individual pieces are sturdy, and it's inexpensive and fulfills its function with the caveats noted.

5 out of 5 stars Quick setup, good support   September 5, 2008
Pavel Guarisma (Katy, TX USA)
No issues...unpacked and setup in 10 mins. Did screw into a stud for additional support but only as an extra precuation but don't really think it is mandatory at least for the size/weight bikes I have and the location (against my garage wall). One adult mountain bike (top) and one girl's 16" bike (bottom) are on it with no problems.

4 out of 5 stars Solid, stylish, and simple bike stand.   September 1, 2008
M. Zieger (Harrisburg PA)
We use this bike stand in a rather narrow entryway so that we can have our two bikes at the ready while not taking up too much floor space. This bike stand works perfectly for us to hold two bikes. Like others have said, if you have small children around, I'd recommend anchoring it against the wall as although it is quite sturdy, it could be pushed or pulled over without too much trouble.

Overall, certainly one of the best bike stands for the money.
