Best of its Kind/Price Range September 9, 2007 Kevin M. 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been using this item for about six months now, and I have encountered no technical issues. The lamp is also much more attractive than comparable items, and is overall the best value-for-dollar option that I found available. The only drawback is a minor one: the shades are not as flexible as one would expect.
Different strokes for different folks March 24, 2004 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
After reading reviews here I went out and bought this track light. It's aesthetically pleasing - no doubt, but at 60w per bulb, it doesn't give off very much light. The lamp itself is pretty heavy, which makes for a stable base, but it's not ideal to move around with. I move back and forth from my home to my dorm and it's become such a hassle I leave it in my friend's shed during the summer. If you're looking for something pretty with soft light, this is the lamp for you. If you're looking for a work light, this model just won't cut it.
Great value, simplistic design.... January 9, 2004 Eric (Columbus, OH USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great price, simple clean design, only problem: eats up bulbs like candy!
Good value, reasonable utility December 7, 2003 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This item seems to be a good value for $25. Styling and design are very attractive. You really can adjust the lamps without having them stick in or creep out of position. Packing is okay; I noticed very light scuffs on the base and on one of the chromed accents that I have been able to easily ignore. You should expect heat production from any incandescent bulb; sorry, but this metal unit cannot bend the laws of physics and be cool to the touch shortly after it's turned on. Try turning bulbs OFF before adjusting them. The quality of light from this unit is sort of marginal, though I'd expect most fixtures of this type to waste a lot of light by not reflecting it outward very well. It's fine for bouncing light off the ceiling or walls, or using the highest bulb to directly light a desk surface. As with any bare bulb, light is soft when reflected and harsh when used directly. Finally, the unit stands more or less straight. I have never had a problem with it tipping over. In fact, the base is quite heavy and inspires confidence. And if you're tripping circuit breakers with 60W bulbs, you've got other problems, pal.
