Product Description The Amazing Handheld Bug Zapper terminates insects without using toxins! Child safety switch, not a toy, two AA batteries included, a long-standing best seller. Amazon.com Review Keep the bugs away from your next barbecue without resorting to unsafe insect sprays. Designed on the premise of a flyswatter, this handheld bug zapper is shaped like a tennis racket and kills insects on contact via an electric current when they touch the surface of the "net." The zapper operates on two AA batteries and, for safety, activates when you simultaneously press the two buttons on its handle. The bug zapper is safe for either indoor or outdoor use; however, people should exercise caution when the zapper is activated as it will cause a shock. --Cristina Vaamonde

Great item - flimsy, but inexpensive August 28, 2008 Andy Andrews (a house in the burbs) I love the zappper, although I am purchasing my second zapper because, as many reviews state, the handle is flimsy. I think my overexuberant swinging could be to blame, though. It's hard not swing for the fences when you can snuff out the life of an annoying fly by watching and listening to it burst into a loud, bright electrical spark. The most satisfying result is when you catch a groggy fly in the morning who spent the night in your house annoying you. For some reason, they often spend the night on our chrome kitchen sink. In the morning, I simply walk up to them and tap them with the zapper. When a fly is propery gounded onto metal, it's like setting off a small firecracker! I guess the company could have made this three times as expensive, and it would last three times as long. I just look at it as a great disposable device that needs periodic replacement.
With great power comes great responsibility... August 27, 2008 Jason E. Chang (Los Angeles, CA USA) This thing works. Note: be careful not to touch the grill immediately after letting go of the contact buttons. Yeah, did that once. Also, there's a temptation to abuse various species of flying insects with sadistic zeal after a while. Eh. Those are the breaks.
Just a WASTE of money and battery August 10, 2008 Alejandro Valerin (Miami, FL, 33166) I'm really surprised by the previous reviews. I bought this one week a go and do NOTHING to bugs, you actualy have to "kill" the bug (mosquito, fly, etc) by TORTURING it, you will find yourself pressing the 2 buttons for as much as 10-20 seconds in order to kill the bug, if you just zap it for a few seconds you will only torture the bug, like giving it an electroshock and leaving it with epilepsy.. A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY.
Entertaining bug zapper (when not broken) July 31, 2008 Adrien Washington I liked it when I first got it but after a few weeks it had already broke twice and I'm kind of bored with it. The metal coils all came out the first time (I'm not sure how though?) and I had to put each one individually into each hole (took a good 20 mins) and then the second time I dropped it on accident and all of the coils popped out again. Currently its sitting in my room on the floor with coils popping out in all directions. It was a fun toy for a little while (if you get big enough bugs and leave the zapper on they will eventually fry and make a loud POP) and it does it job, but if it breaks a couple times I'm sure you will see just how frustrating it really is. All in all though it did what it was suppose to, which is why I gave it 3 stars
Amazing Bug Zapper July 6, 2008 K. Thomas (West Virginia) Great product that arrived right on time for Father's Day. Hillarious gift & actually quite useful.
