Album Description For Celtic Thunder, Sharon Browne has teamed up with Grammy-nominated Irish songwriting and composing veteran Phil Coulter to produce a show that includes an eclectic mix of songs ranging from the traditional "Mountains of Mourne" and "Come By the Hills" to international hits such as "Brothers in Arms" and "Desperado," as well as original compositions by Coulter, who has written hits for Elvis Presley ("My Boy") and the Bay City Rollers, and performed with Van Morrison, Tom Jones, and the Rolling Stones. The ensemble numbers in Celtic Thunder reflect the power of the vocalists, who range in age from 14 to 40, and feature songs that celebrate a common Celtic heritage.

Music that moves the spirit July 7, 2008 Lady Di (Bedford, TX) If you are a lover of Celtic music, you will certainly be entertained over and over as you listen to these talented guys. However, there is a mix of pop music intermingled within this concert. It's amazing how each song fits the personality of each of these men. I say men lightly as one of them is just a boy who has the voice of an angel. I watch this concert over and over, yet never tire of it.
Wonderful, Entrancing! July 5, 2008 E. Dean Jones Sr. (Minneapolis) We have seldom seen a performance that entranced us so! It hooked our attention and our hearts. Not only is the music wonderful, the singers come across as real people -- authentic young men, singing their hearts out and obviously enjoying their success at thrilling the live audience. This DVD contains a handful of numbers that were not included in the Celtic Thunder show we saw on PBS.
Celtic Thunder: The Show July 4, 2008 G. Gunn Another British invasion? "Celtic Thunder" is a group of 5 men from Ireland and Scotland, whose voices are truly amazing. Each has a strong and distinctive solo voice, but also blend well when they sing together. The music isn't all Celtic in nature - "Desperado" "That's a Woman" and "Puppy Love" are among those that aren't. The show is about 2 hours, and when they're finished, you'll find yourself wanting more! They are engaging performers who immediately connect with their audience. It would be difficult to choose a favorite - each having a unique style. This is not a "boy band." It is a DVD you'll watch again and again! My only disappointment is that the CD only has about half the songs from the DVD. I wish they had made it a double CD set. I am hoping they will make another recording soon. If you like Celtic music at all ... even if only on St. Patrick's Day, this is a DVD you will enjoy!
Enchanting!!! July 3, 2008 Bettie D. Linthicum (Lakewood, Washington United States) Seeing "Celtic Thunder, five young male singers" in the daily tv guide, I didn't watch it, thinking it would be just some teenage loud music thing. Was I ever wrong! When I did accidentally come across it while surfing, I was hooked. It's about time that truly excellent music that is pleasing to all ages comes along. I'm a musician myself, and am critical to a fault sometimes. But this is one of the most marvelous musical shows I've ever seen. All five men are talented, attractive, charming and each one has great stage presence--even the youngest, who is only 14. And if that weren't enough, the staging is nothing less than superb! I have since watched it every time I see it listed, bought the DVD, and just ordered two more for gifts. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this. It is a triumph for these young men--and their producer--and I hope they do many more of these truly wonderful musical presentations.
Awesome Concert July 2, 2008 Kelly Hamilton (Texas) Celtic Thunder is a wonderful concert! Beautiful and fun songs, not to mention very handsome men. They not only sing some Irish tunes but also some other styles as well. I highly recommend this DVD as part of your video music library.
