Excellent kit... August 20, 2008 B. Starbuck (Denver, CO United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an excellent kit for anyone wanting to save a few bucks on simple watch repair/maintenance. It includes everything you will need to change batteries, size bands, change/replace pins or bands, etc. The only thing it's missing is a vise for watches that have screw-off backs. Other than that, a very sound buy. The screw-off back remover did have quite a bit of oil on it when it arrived, but a paper towel took care of that in no time. The money you'll spend on this kit will return to your pocketbook ten fold, because you won't be paying ten to twelve bucks for the two minutes a retailer would spend replacing your battery for you. Watch Pavillion provided excellent service and had the shipment to me within a few days of my order and I highly recommend them and this product.
good, need further instructions April 11, 2008 lifeisgood (Houston TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
if you are an amateur you need to find out what are the tools for, there are names but not instructions. It is a fine and complete kit.
Needs instructions BUT Great Customer Service December 22, 2007 Have tool will fix 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I recently purchased the watch repair kit and found when it arrived that there were no instructions or identifying labels for the various tools and parts. An email to customer service got me the watch band repair directions within 24 hours and a subsequent phone call took care of a problem I was having with one of the tools. A new one arrived at my door within a few days. If a short instruction set (identifying the parts and describing their use) was included with the kit, I would have changed the rating to a 4 or 5 star.
great buy! December 18, 2007 ronjan (hasbrouck heights, new jersey United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product was well worth the cost. It was comparable to the repair kits which cost over $100
Cheap to the point of worthlessness September 15, 2007 super-elastic (Seattle) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The tools are so primitive and finished to such poor tolerances and standards that most are not usable. Take for example, the screwdrivers: the shaft spins in the handle and the soft metal of the blade bends. It is a fairly complete set of tools, with items, such as a hand puller, that only someone with a good deal of watchmaking experience would need, but, again, would likely find very ungratifying, dangerous (to watch and user), and ultimately useless. If all you want to do is open up a case to change a battery, change a watch band, or resize a bracelet, then, in my opinion, you are better off spending less money and purchasing the few tools that you need for these common tasks from a reputable manufacturer. One last comment, the set has a strange and overpowering odor. A few of the tools are covered with grease.
