Amazon.com Review The Microsoft Optical Mouse Blue is a well-designed, stylish, and efficient mouse that makes a worthy addition to any desktop. This mouse is shaped for ambidextrous use, fitting comfortably in either hand. It features two buttons and a central scroll wheel, and its silver and blue two-tone finish is complemented by the signature red glow characteristic of the Microsoft optical family. The mouse connects via USB, though a PS/2 converter is also supplied. The package comes with IntelliPoint 4.1 software, which is straightforward to install. It works with Windows 98 and all later versions of Windows, and is also compatible with Mac OS 8.6, 9x, and 10.1. Unlike traditional mice, the Microsoft Optical Mouse Blue doesn't contain a ball, but instead uses a high-intensity LED and optical sensor to detect movement. This negates the need for regular cleaning, as with a mouse ball, and also provides greater precision. During testing, the Microsoft Optical Mouse Blue performed well. It's comfortable to use, and precise. The buttons and wheel are responsive and accurate. Combine this with its durable construction, and you have a mouse that is well worth the investment. --Jason Weston, Amazon.co.uk

Good grip on it but lacks durability July 3, 2008 M. Daniel (APO AE, USA) I like my Microsoft mouse because it feels good in my hands and it works just perfect. No daubt that my mouse is tortured as I carry it with my Laptop every day. But give me a break Microsoft and spend some money on durability research. No company can explain to me that a mouse is breaking after less than a year of use because it has reached the end of it's lifetime?! I expect more than that even though we live in a "throw away and buy a new one" culture. Couldn't find nothing else which fit my hand that perfect so I bought the same one again. Yes I was a sucker and fell for it again!!!
simple, ergonomic, reliable June 23, 2008 David Underhill (USA) This mouse is simple, reasonably priced, and ergonomic. I've owned one for over a year and had no problems with it despite lugging it around in the bottom of my laptop bag. I bought this second one to replace a different failing mouse which I used with my desktop. I'm quite happy with this simple mouse and recommend it to others looking for a good and inexpensive mouse.
Computer Mouse May 27, 2008 Fred Mealio (Perrin, Texas United States) Purchased two of the Microsoft optical mouse, both work very well, and after a month of daily use I have found that it does all that I want. Nothing special but this is what I wanted.
Begins well... but later on... ehhh... May 23, 2008 N. Bradley (Georgia) Well, here's the thing. I liked this mouse when I first got it. After all, its optical, it feels nice on my hand, and controls well. But later on down the road... The track ball has gotten stuck. Don't know how, don't know why, but when scrolling, it gets to a point and STICKS. This is extremely frustrating when playing online video games where speed is essential. This, in itself, wouldn't be much of a problem if there was a way to open it and clean it. But... there's none. No screws, nothing that pops off... its just one solid unit. So, if you're looking for a temporary mouse, then this might be for you. But if you want one that will last more than 3 months... look elsewhere.
THIS MOUSE ROCKS !!! April 6, 2008 R. Dufresne (New England) This is simply a great mouse to use! It is comfortable in your hand, light but not too light, and it is better than the wireless mouses (mice?) I have used as it is reliable and not weighed down by batteries that have to be changed or recharged all the time. And I even like the red light! Really, I have used tons of pointer devices over the years of all kinds and this is the nicest. Simple and comfortable. Go for it!
