Hey, they've fixed the rubber grip problem! August 2, 2008 Lydia K. (New England, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Like everybody else who's posted reviews, I found that the rubber grip eventually came loose, rendering an otherwise perfect pen unusable. But I love my Graphire pad so I came here, grumbling, to order a replacement pen. Lo and behold, the rubber grip seems different this time! It seems to be made of a firmer molded material, not quite as cushy to hold as the old version but much sturdier.
Awesome pen! June 2, 2008 Richard Burns (New Jersey) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this pen to replace my last one, which lasted about two years before the rubber grip started to come off. I really love my tablet and pen. This pen worked great right out of the box!!!
Great replacement pen May 16, 2008 Shayna Grove 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I received this pen as a gift, to replace the broken pen for my Graphire2 tablet. I had read that all the Graphire pens work on other Graphire tablets, and I was very pleased to find this was true. The grip took a little getting used to, but it calibrated fine. The sensitivity is great, and all the buttons work beautifully. It does not fit in the penholder for the Graphire2 tablet well, and so I have to keep it in a cup next to my desk. But I would recommend this to anyone needing a replacement pen for any Graphire tablet.
Very poor quality; get the the new Bamboo Fun Pen instead January 2, 2008 zemes 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
When it comes to functionality, this is a wonderful product in combination with the tablet. But the quality is terrible. If you use it regularly, it won't last longer than a year. As the other reviewer pointed out, the robber clothing will become de-shaped, loosened, unstable, slippery and frequently covering the buttons making them difficult to use. $30 replacement for every year is ridiculous. If this does not improve, the entire product would have questionable value as the pen itself is indispensable. An Update: If you are buying a Wacom pen separately for your Graphire tablet, get the new Bamboo Fun Pen instead. It also works with the Graphire tablets (CTE-xxx). I bought it to replace my less than two year old Graphire pen. This is of much much better quality. Looks like Wacom has realized that it produced a terrible pen for an otherwise excellent tablet when they made the Graphires. I'm glad that Wacom made the new pens for the new Bamboo tablets compatible with the older Graphire tablets. So far, it seems 100% compatible and I've run into absolutely no issues. The new pen is better in all aspects. The buttons are much easier to access and are much better designed and made. And it lost the hated rubber cover.
Disappointing lifespan December 11, 2007 Scott K. 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this March of this year to replace the pen that came with my Graphire4. The rubber grip on the previous pen had begun to tear, but not before the adhesive around the buttons lost it's strength. This made using the buttons difficult. Recently, the same thing has been happening to the replacement pen. Again, the rubber grip has begun tearing, and again, the glue adhering it to the pen has become rubbish. Worst of all, the eraser no longer functions. This is all very disappointing because when the pen works, it does so fantastically. With properly set up brushes in Photoshop, it's a dream to work with. Comfort wise, it's a notable improvement over the Graphire3's pen. It's just a shame about it's durability.
