Perfect fix, repair a little involved though November 18, 2008 CLT_Mike (Charlotte, NC) After 15 years of service, my Liftmaster garage door opener finally failed. It started out only lifting the door about half way, then the gear stripped out. I didn't feel like dropping $$$ on a new opener, so I found this kit online. If you are up for the task, this kit does the job well. The instructions are pretty good although not perfect. The only difficult part is removing the roller pins on the main drive shaft and the collar on the worm gear. Make sure you have a punch to remove the pin although I used a nail effectively. If you're not mechanically inclined or don't have the tools, you may get frustrated. After installation, you'll need to tinker with the setting on the door to get it to open and close properly. Total repair time was about 1.5 hrs.
Sears garage door opener Gear Kit November 16, 2008 Carolyn J. Sandison (Oahu, HI, USA) The kit had even more parts than we needed. So my boyfriend rebuilt the whole motor! (Sort of) The door opener works great now!
Garage door opener, Gear repair kit. October 30, 2008 Steven H. Feintuch (South Florida) Worked out great, Exactly what was needed was in the kit and great instructions helped also.
Right parts, slow service October 24, 2008 Luis G. Martinez (New York, NY) I bought this kit after having called sears and figuring out that just for them to come and take a look they would charge a ridiculous amount of money. I figured I would just buy the kit and give it a shot myself or buy a new garage door opener. Still I wanted the kit delivered in ASAP and the company took its sweet a*s time sending it over after I paid for the fastest delivery. The kit is what it is and the pieces worked, although it was more trouble than I thought to replace the parts (specially removing those stupid pins). All in all 3 stars for Sanford and Son for slow service and 4 stars for the kit, since the instructions don't mention the tools you'll need to disassemble the opener.
Great buy August 4, 2008 Dutch I tried to get 'brand'-parts for my broken garagedoor-opener, couldn't find them online for a reasonbale price. When I found this repair set and read the positive reviews, I bought it immediately. It took some time and it wasn't real easy to get the opener to work again, but it is running smoothly now!
