hilarious! November 21, 2008 jsc (edmonton, ab) This is an off-beat series about two New Zealanders who have a 'band' and they come to NYC to try and make it big. They are so funny, their accents, and they make fun of New Zealand, lots of funny running jokes. They also break out into song occasionally, about 2-3 times per episode, but don't let this put your off. Their songs are actually very well written, and they do a lot of different styles, and mostly they just make fun of themselves. If you don't want to buy the DVD before seeing any episodes, you should be able to see the show on the movie channels in Canada, and I think HBO shows it in the States. I definitely recommend this comedy!
Do Yourself A Favor and Buy This DVD NOW. August 14, 2008 Yaekerman (Vancouver, BC)
This is one of the most unique, original, understated and hilarious dry-wit comedies I have ever seen. Welcome to the new standard. As talented and creative as Jemaine and Brett are, it would not be fair to ignore the brilliant supporting characters of band manager Murray Hewitt, lone fan Mel and friend and confidant Dave. So classic. Thanks guys! Looking forward to more great material.

Flight of the Bizarre Sense of Humour June 28, 2008 Mr. B. McCreanor (Someplace, Canada) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This series is a fantastic example of what two guys from New Zealand with a really strange sense of humour who sing, play guitars and adjust to life in the harsh climate of New York can accomplish when they set out to create a TV show. The comedy is often dry and blunt, but these two kiwi simpletons and their collection of quirky acquaintances had me rolling on the floor laughing, and if this isn't the effect this show has on you, then you truly must not have a sense of humour. If you enjoy this show, check out the British version of "The Office", the wonderful Irish show "Father Ted", or the Canadian show "The Newsroom" for a good time.
