Most amazing thing ever! I couldn't believe the songs they chose for the movie, absolutely outstanding!

4 out of 5 stars Good Rock CD   November 18, 2008

It's a pretty good rock cd. Of course, the highly anticipated Rob Pattinson song had to fall short. Guitar was awesome, vocals not so great-embarassing, actually. It sounds like his nose is being pinched by a clothespin. I would like to hear some other vocal pieces from him to really decide if I would listen to him or not. Also, the lullaby isn't strictly a piano piece as written in the book, it's an orchestral arrangement-also a disappointment. It sounded nice, just not what I was led to expect.

4 out of 5 stars A great intro to little-known bands   November 14, 2008

I bought this soundtrack because of my interest in the upcoming movie. What kind of music would they pick for a teen vampire flick? I'm glad I bought it! Right from "Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse, I loved it. None of the songs were "skippers" which is unusual for me (though I do enjoy some songs more than others). There's some emo-rock songs, pop, slow songs. And the performers are mostly obscure (to me) with some better-known talent thrown into the mix. It reminds me of the great soundtracks to the John Hughes films in the eighties (I'm aging myself!) where I was introduced to many new bands. I've already ordered (and received--thanks Amazon!) some CDs of the artists on this disc, and I'm pleased with the results. If you want to expand your circle of talented bands to follow, give this CD a try (whether or not you're a fan of the Twilight books or the movie).
