The book has fulfilled my personal expectations for a practical guide in setting up the Data Warehouse. After concise delving into dimensional modelling all kinds of business environments by branch are tackled for best practice and also obstacles which lay ahead when delivering concrete and robust based Data Marts and Warehouses. I personally like the Author's apporoach to a blend of IT based facts like discussion on dimensions, keys, data table size and so on together with business user expectations and terminology. This is highly readable.
The book should best be purchased and read with it's companion from same author "The Data Warehouse Lifecycle Toolkit" where the full project planning and lifecycle administration together with in-depth techniques for dimensional modelling are layed out.
