Not the greatest software November 18, 2008 M. Mason 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I installed this software after reading numerous good reviews even from PC Pro. I'm running Vista Business. As soon as i had installed it, the trouble started. Internet explorer kept crashing along with Outlook. Totally destabilised my system which before installing this junk software had been faultless. Home users stay away and go with something like AVG. I give it one star because it was easy to install.
Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 November 13, 2008 mreuts 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great product. Deleted my expiring software and loaded Kaspersky. Simple to load and configure, no problems or dramas. My machine is now faster than ever and much quicker to boot up than before. In terms of protection, only time will tell, but so far so good. Fully recommended.
Don't do it! November 7, 2008 Mr. R. I. Williams (united kingdom) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Having used Kaspersky for a number of years I upgraded to 2009 thinking it would be the best yet. Not a chance! Within a short time of booting by computer Kaspersky stopped all functions due to google desktop trying to access the internet. I tried to resolve it but no luck. So I re-installed it thinking it may solve the issue. But no, this time it stoped my computer dead in it's tracks. So I had to do a full system recovery. Trying to contact Kasperskey is another thing, I would have a better chance of robbing a bank than getting to there help desk. So in the end I gave up and risked buying Norton 2009 (I started to use Kaspersky in the first place because of Norton) What a transformation, it has changed so much. Faster than before (though that shouldn't have been a hard thing to do) and so easy to use. Access to there help desk should you need it is easy, either by Phone,E-Mail or direct link to a tech who takes control over your PC to resolve your issues. Kaspersky on the otherhand put you through a MENSA test first and then still refuse to let you contact them. Sorry Kaspersky if you want my loyalty then I want something back in return. And I don't mean a headache! Very Poor.
Excellent Internet Security Software October 30, 2008 Mr. J. Lorrimore (Leicestershire, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Having read the reviews and done some research I decided to buy. I uninstalled my previous security software - a very well known brand, also the name of an old motorcycle(!) - and installed this one without any hassle (about 20 mins once it had downloaded all the updates it needed). Immediately my pc ran faster than before, AND it detected quite a few Trojans that weren't previously detected ! A few days on and my pc continues to run so much faster than before, and with update checks every time I switch on it gives me confidence that I've bought an excellent piece of Software, for LESS THAN HALF the price of renewing the subscription to the previous software.
Fast and unobtrusive, but slightly tricky installation October 27, 2008 richardb (United Kingdom) This seems to perform anti-virus checking very efficiently and am more than happy. I did have a problem with the installation as it broke my DNS so could not browse the internet (which is annoying when all the help in the world is on the internet). I had removed Norton before as instructed and rebooted - not sure if that caused the issue. But, after uninstalling Kapersky, rebooting, reinstalling, rebooting it came to life and worked. Great value for money too.
